SANDRA L. GETZENDINER, age 65, of Piqua, went home to be with the Lord Sunday at 4:41 P.M. September 16, 2018 in her residence. She was born September 21, 1952 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Charles and Dorothea (Medley) Taylor.

She is survived by two daughters: Bambi Taylor, Dayton, OH, Charla Getzendiner, Englewood, OH; one sister: Denise Bostic, Winchester, KY; two brothers: Phillip & Lou Ann Taylor, Troy, OH, Dana Taylor, Piqua, OH; one sister-in-law: Eugenia Taylor, Piqua, OH; seven grandchildren: Malcolm Casey, Dorothea Casey, Ayron Birden, Yoshua Birden, Kayla Rock, Christian Benge, Kali Stephens. She is also survived by numerous, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by one brother: Larry Taylor.
Sandra graduated from Piqua Central High School in 1972. She was an active member of Transformed Life Church, Piqua serving under Pastor Brian Hamilton. She loved serving at the former Church of Jesus, Piqua, for many years under Elder Howard Collier. She received the woman of the year in 1999 from the Church of Jesus for her many years of service and community involvement. Sandra was self-employed as a wood worker in the Piqua area and helped with Habitat for Humanity. She loved to crochet. She was well known for riding her bicycle around the Piqua and Troy area. Sandra even rode her bicycle to Dayton, Englewood and Ft. Wayne, IN.

A Celebration of Sandra’s Life will be held Tuesday September 25, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Transformed Life Church, Piqua with Pastor Brian Hamilton officiating. Calling hours at the church will be from 10-11 AM. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua. Family will receive friends Monday 6-8 P.M. at MELCHER-SOWERS FUNERAL HOME, Piqua.

Memorial contributions may be made to Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home 646 W. High St. Piqua to help defray the cost of the funeral service.
