Obituary for Mildred J. Hulme

MILDRED J. HULME, age 102, of Houston, OH went home to be with the Lord at 3:00 PM on Saturday January 27, 2018 at Garbry Ridge Assisted Living. She was born in Piqua, OH on December 21, 1915 to the late William and Bethel (Cruse) Brading. On May 9, 1938 in Miami County she married Arnold Hulme. He preceded her in death in 1993.

Mildred is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Winston and Wendy Hulme, Send, England; one sister: Peg King, Vancouver, Washington; one sister-in-law: Nancy Brading, Piqua, Ohio; two granddaughters: Lindsay Flemming, London, England, and Jacqueline White, Guilford, England; two great-grandsons: Zachary White and Dylan Flemming. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Jim Brading, William Brading, George Brading, and Robert Brading; three sisters: Ruth Snyder, Mary Richardson, and Betty Beard.

Mildred graduated from Piqua Catholic High School in 1934. She was a member of Piqua Westminster Presbyterian Church. Mildred and her husband Arnold owned a dairy farm in Houston, OH. She also worked for Smith Florist and Hulme Market in Piqua. Mildred was very active in the Houston PTA and was a member of the Progressive Homemakers Club in Shelby County.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday Feb. 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua with Rev. Todd Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua. Calling hours will be Sunday 2-4 PM at the funeral home.
