FEMA COVID-19 Funeral Assistance Program Information:
The application process for families will begin on Monday, April 12, 2021. The application requires: a death certificate that indicates such medical conditions; documents showing funeral expenses and proof of who is responsible for these expenses, as well as any other sources which helped with them. A family member will have to initiate the application process by calling the COVID-19 Funeral Assistance Line at 1-844-684-6333 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00AM – 8:00PM (Central Time) beginning on April 12, 2021. With the statewide mask mandate in effect, a facial covering will
need to be worn while inside Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home.
Funeral Homes are exempt from the mass gathering guidelines.
Refrain from physical contact of any kind and maintain social distancing.
