1984

In 1984 Jerry and Pam Sowers purchased the business and in 1986 changed the name to Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home. In 1991 construction began on a 10,000 square foot addition, which included a new chapel, coffee lounge, restrooms and new offices. This addition made the building handicap accessible, including the original building. The addition was created to better serve families in a larger, more comfortable environment. Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home is now celebrating over 100 years of service to the families of Piqua.

Present

During these changing times, we are working toward making changes that will better serve our families needs. These changes will incorporate suggestions and requests from families we have served and families we hope to serve in the future. Our goal is to provide the best possible facilities and resources. We are hopefully moving in that direction and will continue to do so. We will update the website as these changes progress. Keep checking back for additional information.
