Obituary for Lois E. Marshall

LOIS E. MARSHALL, age 87, of Union City, OH, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday April 7, 2018 at 8:40 P.M. at Kindred Hospital, Dayton, OH. She was born March 20, 1931 in Ansonia, OH to the late Harley and Edith (Johnson) Richards. She married Ora I. Marshall December 20, 1947 in Greenville, OH. He preceded her in death June 29, 2010.

She is survived by one daughter: Susan (Howard) Sowers, Greenville, OH, who lovingly cared for her in their home during her illness; one son: John (Jana) Marshall, Union City, OH; three brothers: James (Joyce) Richards, Emlyn, KY, Steven (Phyllis) Richards, Xenia, OH, Stan Richards, Ansonia, OH; four grandchildren: Justin (Angie) Marshall, Jeremy (Lainey) Marshall, Jamie (Dustin) Bennett, Amber (Jack) Boze; and seven great grandchildren. Being the eldest, Lois was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Lois was a former member of the Ansonia Methodist Church and Union City Evangelical United Methodist Church. She loved to quilt, read books, and was a veteran genealogist for over 40 years. Lois loved and served her Lord with all her heart. She was employed as a seamstress for Royal Garment Co. in Ansonia, OH and General Athletics Co. in Greenville for over 40 years.

Services will be held Friday April 13, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at MELCHER-SOWERS FUNERAL HOME, Piqua with the Pastor Gene Phelps officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
