Willis L Felver

Willis "LeRoy" Felver, age 89, of Piqua, went to be with the Lord at 5:55 A.M. on Saturday November 28, 2009 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born January 10, 1920 in Celina, Ohio to the late Willis and Ola (Walls) Felver. On December 28, 1946 in Covington, OH he married Polly A. Keeler and she survives. Willis is also survived by one son: Terry L. Felver, Piqua; one daughter and son-in-law: Linda and Donald Shoenleben, Bradford, OH; one sister-in-law: Alberta "Bertie" Felver, Piqua; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one son: James Michael Felver and one brother: Ora Felver. Willis was a member of the Piqua Church of the Nazarene. Willis proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for the former Champion Paper Company in Piqua for 20 years and retired in 1978. Funeral services will be Wednesday Dec. 2, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua with Pastor Lincoln Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington, OH, with Full Military Honors by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Calling hours will be 6-8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Nancy Eileen Bell

Polly, Terry and Linda Leroy was a wonderful husband ,father and cousin. He always had a smile or good word on his lips for everyone. I remember just last month when Ed and I had supper with he and Polly at the Manor, he was so sweet telling about me more wonderful stories of my mother and daddy. Polly, Linda and Terry I am so sorry for the loss of Leroy. He was such a kind and gentle man and I always enjoyed talking to him and Orie at gatherings over the years. I love the Keeler family dearly and all those who married into it. Although Sally is gone, please know I will always consider you as a very special part of my life.
